SOUTH BEND - Brother Theodore David Kapes, CSC, 93, of Dujarie House, Notre Dame, died Saturday in his residence. Brother Kapes was born Nov. 10, 1901, in Cranberry, Pa.
He entered the Brothers of Holy Cross on July 1, 1923; made temporary profession July 2, 1924; and took his final vows July 2, 1927. He served 18 years as a missionary in Bangladesh; worked at schools of the congregation in the United States; and was assigned to the Ave Maria Press for 34 years, retiring in 1990. He is survived by two sisters, Theresa Rosh of West Hazelton, Pa., and Anna Kapes of Hazelton, Pa.; and two brothers, Ralph and Edward, both of Hazelton.
Services will be at 7:30 p.m. in Holy Cross Brothers Center. Burial will be at 9 a.m. Thursday in St. Joseph Cemetery of the Brothers Center. Friends may call after 3:30 p.m. Wednesday until services in the center. Hickey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
