January 25, 1903 – March 11, 1993

SOUTH BEND – Louise S. Kapalczynski, 90, of Carlisle Healthcare, formerly of Karl King Towers, died at 10:50pm Thursday in the nursing home. Mrs. Kapalczynski retired from Grant’s Dime Store as a clerk.

She was born January 25, 1903, in South Bend, and was a lifelong area resident. In 1928, as Louise Slomski, she married Walter Mrozek. He died December 4, 1939. On February 25, 1950, in South Bend, she married Joseph Kapalczynski. He died February 3, 1973.

She is survived by two stepdaughters, Henrietta Kocsis and Irene Wcisel, both of South Bend; a stepson, Ralph of St Joseph; and four sisters, Helen Niezgodski, Clara Kopinski, Adeline Cytacki and Esther Miltenberger, all of South Bend. She was a member of Harvest House of St Stanislaus Catholic Church.

Services will be at 10am Monday in the church. Burial will be in St Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8pm Sunday in Kaniewski & Sons Funeral Home, where a parish rosary will be said at 4pm.
