Sister M. Fransita Kane CSC, 84, of
Saint Mary’s Convent, died at 6:25 a.m. Wednesday in her
residence. She was born Jan. 20, 1909 in Pocatello, Idaho as
Dorothy Honore Kane. She entered the Congregation of the Sisters
of the Holy Cross at St. Mary’s on July 2, 1927; was
received as a novice on Aug. 15, 1928; and professed her vows on
Aug. 15, 1930. She was assigned to elementary, secondary and
college education and served in California from 1930 to 1941;
College of Saint Mary of the Wasatch, Salt Lake City; St. Mary’s
College; Notre Dame and Catholic University of America,
Washington DC, as a research analyst. She did research and
writing at St. Mary’s from 1977 to 1991.
Services will be said at 10:30 a.m. Saturday
in the Church of Our Lady of Loretto at St. Mary’s with
burial in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery at St. Mary’s. Friends
may call in the convent parlor after 3 p.m. Friday in the church,
where a wake will be at 7:30 p.m.
