MISHAWAKA - Arnold L. Kamppi, 78, of Mishawaka, IN, passed away
on Thursday, April 15, 2010 at the St. Joseph Regional Medical
Center in Mishawaka. Arnold was born on March 13, 1932 in
Casslake MN, to the late Leonard and Madeline (Broker) Kamppi.
Arnold married the former Emily Roberge on September 24, 1959 in
Rye, New Hampshire. Arnold and Emily shared fifty wonderful years
of marriage together. Survivors include his wife, Emily and their
three children, Robert (Crona) Kamppi of Mishawaka, William
(Wendy) Kamppi of Raymond, Maine and Yvonne (Frank) Cameron of
Junction City, Kansas. Arnold was a loving and caring grandfather
and great- grandfather to six grandchildren, Christopher (Katie)
Kamppi, Stephaine Parnell, Zachary, Alan Kamppi, Francis Wm.
Cameron and Douglas Kamppi. Along with two great-grandchildren,
Vivian Kamppi and Jacob Parnell. A brother, Kenneth Kamppi
preceded Arnold in death. Arnold served his country as a Navy
Sea-Bee, receiving an honorable discharge, after 18 years and 2
months of commitment. Arnold retired from A.M. General as a
Security Guard. During his retirement Arnold enjoyed his favorite
easy chair, often caught napping in it by his wife Emily. Arnold
loved and cherished his family and grandchildren most of all.
There will be no visitation or funeral service. The family is
honoring Arnold's wishes to be cremated. His cremains will be
buried at Pine Grove Cemetery in Casslake, MN, at a later date.
Bubb Funeral Chapel assisted the family with the arrangements.
