MISHAWAKA - Ret. Sgt. Thomas E. Kamerer, 67, of Tampa, Fla., formerly of Mishawaka, died Sunday in his home after an illness. Mr. Kamerer retired in 1981 from the Air Force as a staff sergeant after 30 years of service. He was born Nov. 15, 1926, in Mishawaka.
His first wife, Mary Rose Steenbeke, died Oct. 28, 1987. He is survived by his second wife, Tina Severance Kamerer of Tampa; four daughters, Carole C. Hollan of St. Petersburg, Fla., Deborah J. Kamerer and Theresa L. Chase, both of Tampa, and Vickie A. Jones of Hampton, Va.; a son, John P. of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; a stepdaughter, Connie Piper of Brandon, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; his mother, Kathryn McBride of St. Petersburg; and a sister, Kathleen Castellano of Atlanta. He was a veteran of the Air Force and the Navy.
Graveside services and burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Hillsborough Memorial Gardens, Tampa. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in Mark III Funeral Home, Tampa. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Hillsborough County or American Cancer Society.
