March 22, 1927 - April 14, 2000.

Lorraine J. Kalmar (Toth), 73, of Crown Hill Drive in South Bend, passed away at Hospice House on Friday, April 14, 2000. She was born on March 22, 1927, in South Bend to John and Laura (Rybicki) Nowicki. On May 1, 1976, in South Bend, she married Andrew F. Kalmar, who preceded her in death on April 1, 1995. Mrs. Kalmar retired from the Bendix Corporation in 1992, where she had worked in accounting. She is survived by two daughters, Roberta “Robbie” Harvey of South Bend and Janice (James) Laskowski of South Bend; and by seven grandchildren, Shelley Marker, Jason, Jeffrey, Jeremy, Jessica, Jacob, and Joshua Laskowski. Her loving smile and genuine laughter will be most missed by her family. She spent quiet times with her cousins Florence “Flo” amd Marie “Ollie”, and could always be found with a crochet hook in hand. Her daughters’ trips to Wal-Mart will not be the same. Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, April 17 at St. Mary of the Assumption Church. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m., on Sunday, in the Forest G. Hay Funeral Home, where a rosary service will be held at 4 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made on behalf of Lorraine Kalmar to Hospice House of St. Joseph County.
