July 12, 1940 - Mar. 23, 2009 GRANGER - Lawrence William
"Larry" Kahlmorgan, Jr., 68, of Granger, died at 9:17
p.m. Monday, March 23, 2009 in his winter home in Bradenton, FL.
Mr. Kahlmorgan was born July 12, 1940 in South Bend to the late
Lawrence W. and Mary Jane (Penwell) Kahlmorgan and was a lifetime
area resident. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Donald
A. Kahlmorgan. He is survived by his loving companion, Mildred
Stanton; one daughter, Karla Kahlmorgan of Rochester, IN; two
sons, Jeffrey Kahlmorgan of Rock Hill, SC and Kevin Kahlmorgan of
Plymouth, IN; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Larry retired as a Purchasing Agent for Steel Warehouse Co, Inc.
His first love was his kids, Karla, Kevin, and Jeff as well as
his soul mate Millie Stanton. His second love was playing
softball. He fulfilled his dreams after retiring in the year 2000
and started playing in Florida during the winter months and in
the Battel Center Softball League in Mishawaka during the summer
months. He played on five championship teams in the Battel
League. He was a member of BPOE Lodge #235, the former Loyal
Order of Moose Lodge #58, American Legion Bendix Post #284, and
Disabled American Veterans. He was also a veteran of the US Army.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, March 29th in the
Welsheimer Family Funeral Home, 17033 Cleveland Rd. Burial will
follow in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 5
to 8 p.m. today and 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home.
