Gretchen I. Juroff, 85, of South B end, Ind., passed away at Hospice House on Sunday, Dec. 2, 2001.

She was born May 9, 1916, in Dowagiac, Mich., to the late Earl E. and Ethel (Andersen) Juroff. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Mae Conlee; and by a brother, Elston "Ray" Linderman. On March 22, 1941, she married Alex J. Juroff, who died in 1980.

She is survived by a daughter, Marsha Balsley of South Bend; sons, Carl (Margaret) Juroff of Osceola, Ind., Lyle (Kathy) Juroff of Jefferson City, Tenn., and Kurt (Sherry) Juroff of Fairfax Station, Va.; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; a sister, Ruth Baumgartner of South Bend; a brother, Howard Linderman of Torrance, Calif.; and by a longtime companion, Al Williams of South Bend.

Mrs. Juroff retired from the South Bend Clinic and also worked for J.C. Penney's. She was a member of Osceola United Methodist Church, American Turners, Circle of Mercy and the South Bend Elks.

Funeral services will be held at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, in the Welsheimer North Funeral Home, 17033 Cleveland Road.

Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 7, at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County.
