Richard L. Jurgonski: (South Bend Tribune 11/20/2000)

Mr. Richard L. Jurgonski, 74, of Dana Dr., South Bend, IN, passed away following an extended illness on Sunday, November 19, 2000. Richard was born July 31, 1926 in South Bend, IN, to the late Leo and Anna (Sikorski) Jurgonski. He was married to his first wife, Margaret Campoli on February 21, 1950 in Mishawaka, IN. She preceded him in death on November 28, 1974. His children surviving from that marriage include three sons, Mark (Susan) Jurgonski of Mishawaka, IN, Greg (Vikki) Jurgonski of Niles, MI, and Thomas (Kimberly) Jurgonski of Wheaton, IL, six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. On August 21, 1976, he married Frieda F. Wroblewski, who survives of South Bend, along with her family, Wayne R. (Virginia) Wroblewski of Mishawaka, IN, Robert M. (Jeannie) Wroblewski of South Bend, and the late Kenneth M. Wroblewski, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Gertrude (Joseph) Reiter of South Bend, and a brother, Dan (Shirley) Jurgonski of South Bend. He was preceded in death by one sister, Stella (Harry) Skarupinski and two brothers, Frank (Rose) Jurgonski and Stanley (Henrietta) Jurgonski. He retired in 1988 after 22 years from A.M. General Corporation. He was a member of American Legion Post #161. He was discharged with honors from the Army on June 28, 1946 after serving in the European operation. Services for Mr. Jurgonski are scheduled for Tuesday morning, November 21, 2000 at 11:00 a.m. in the ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday in the St. Joseph Funeral Home.
