Mrs. Isabella M. Judkins, one of the city's best known
women, passed peacefully away at the family home, 337 Edgewater
drive at 2:30 o'clock this morning.
Mrs. Judkins was formerly Miss Isabella Martling, and was
the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. and Lucy Peek Martling, well
known pioneers of this city and county.
She was born in this city Oct. 7, 1846, and
lived here her entire life.
She was married to William H. Judkins, well known business man
and merchant, Oct. 8, 1865. He passed away March 1, 1903.
Surviving are three daughters and one son;
Mrs. F. G. Eberhart, Mrs. Edith J. Fonda, Miss
Alice L. Judkins and Warren G. Judkins, all of Mishawaka. Also
the following grandchildren, Mrs. George W. Blair, Mrs. S.
D. Hillier, and five great-grandchildren. She leaves one
sister and one brother, Mrs. Ellen M. Sibley of Elkhart,
Ind., and Harvey A. Martling of Mishawaka.
The funeral will be held from the family home at 4 o'clock
Wednesday afternoon with Elmer A. Higgins, of First Church of
Christ Scientist, South Bend, officiating.
Burial will be in the City cemetery.
The family requests that no flowers be sent.
