SOUTH BEND - Alson W. ''Alan'' Josselyn III, 69, of North Ironwood Drive, died at 11:30 a.m. Monday in St. Joseph's Medical Center after an illness. Mr. Josselyn retired as a sales representative of a water softening business. He was born May 1, 1925, in Reading, Mass., and lived in South Bend since 1982, coming from Goshen. He is survived by a friend, Tula Morrow of South Bend; and two sons, Jeff of Elkhart and Mark of Goshen. He was a veteran of World War II.

Private services will be held Thursday in Hickey Funeral Home, 17131 Cleveland Road. Cremation will take place. Friends may call from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Diabetes Association of St. Joseph County.
