SOUTH BEND - Lois Louise Jones, 67,
of 1344 E. Dubail Ave., died at 9:35 a.m. Monday in St. Joseph's
Medical Center after an illness. Mrs. Jones was born June 17,
1926, in Hickman, Ky., and lived in South Bend for 42 years,
coming from Cairo, Ill.
On Sept. 18, 1942, in Springfield, Ill., she
married Roosevelt Jones. He died Jan. 8, 1992. She is survived by
nine daughters, Bernett Hursey, Debbie Harris and
Barbara Jones, all of South Bend, Doris Sam of Beaumont,
Ill., Iona Johnson of Carson, Calif., Evelyn Jones of
Indianapolis, Linda Jackson of Buck, Ga., Denise Glover
of Savannah, Ga., and Patrice Rice of Orlando, Fla.; four
sons, Jerry C. of Fullerton, Calif., Cubie of Los Angeles, Ralph
of Milwaukee, and Raymond of Indianapolis; 31 grandchildren; 13
great-grandchildren; four sisters, Lola Mae Jennings of
Pulaski, Ill., Arilla Mitchell of Cario, and Mildred Sullivan
and Queen E. Jones, both of South Bend; and two brothers, Ocie B.
Love of East St. Louis, Ill., and James Love of Gary. She
was a member of Jehovah's Witnesses Congregation-Miami Trail.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in
Alford's Mortuary. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends
may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the funeral home, where
members of the congregation will conduct services at 6 p.m.
