Lenora Jones

Mrs. Lenora Jones, 68, of West
Washington Street, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March
29, 2002 at 8:30 a.m. in her home after a brief illness. She was
born on July 6, 1933 in West Helena, Arkansas to Steven Henry
and Florene Kelley who both preceded her in death. She was
also preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Perkins, and a
brother, Steve Henry.
On September 20, 1974 in Arkansas, she
married Charlie Jones. They relocated to South Bend, Indiana in
1987. On August 9, 1987 she united with the New Testament
Missionary Baptist Church where she served faithfully on the
Usher Board. She was employed with Hansel Neighborhood Center
until her illness. She leaves to cherish fond memories a loving
and devoted husband, Charlie C. Jones 2 step-daughters, Shirley
(Paul) Strickland of West Helena, Arkansas, and Barbara
(Paul) Washington of Clarksville, Tennessee, 3 stepsons,
Charlie (Angenette) Jones of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Jessie
(Sandra) Jones of Aurora, Colorado and James (Margaret) Jones of
Orlando, Florida, 3 sisters, Wilma (Herman) Fennell of
Kansas City, Kansas, Clarice Hunter and Flora (Robert) Gist,
both of Brooklyn, New York, 3 brothers, Theautry Perkins of
Chicago, Illinois, Arthur Lee (Wilhelmina) Kelley of
Hampton, Virginia, and Cleveland Hunter of Brooklyn, New
York, 19 grandchildren, and a host of great-grandchildren,
nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
Services for Mrs. Lenora Jones will be held
Wednesday, April 3, 2002 in the New Testament M.B. Church, 1502
W. Washington St., South Bend, IN, Pastor Allen Gary will
officiate funeral services. Visitation will be at 10 a.m.,
funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Highland
Cemetery, South Bend. The Clark-O'Neal Funeral Home has been
entrusted with funeral services.
