WALKERTON - Iris Y. Jones, 88, passed away Monday, May 3, 2010, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend, IN. Mrs. Jones was born December 9, 1921, in Gas City, IN, to Martin and Ethel (McDaniel) Mellin, and had lived in the area most of her life. On December 12, 1946, in Walkerton, she was married to Paul A. Jones, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by two brothers. Survivors include two daughters, Paula (Gordon) Moore of Rolling Prairie and Valerie (Henry) Paschen of Walkerton; four grandchildren, Troy Bell of North Liberty, Christine Paschen of Ft. Wayne, Julie Guthrie of Mishawaka and Cheryl Paschen of Walkerton; two step-grandchildren, Bryan Moore of Rolling Prairie and Jeremy Moore of Indianapolis; and seven great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Walkerton, a 50-year member of the Order of Eastern Star, Walkerton, the Walkerton Business & Professional Women's Club, and the Walkerton American Legion Women's Auxiliary. Funeral services will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. (Eastern Time) in Rannells Funeral Home, Koontz Lake Chapel. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Walkerton.
