Mrs. Asa E. Jones

     Mrs. Gertrude M. Jones, 74, of 55087 Grape  Road, died at 8:20 p.m.
Wednesday in Osteopathic Hospital after an extended  illness. She was born on Oct.
24, 1894, in Jones City, Iowa, and came here 49  years ago. On Feb. 6, 1932,
she was married to Asa E. Jones, who survives. Also  surviving are two
daughters, Mrs. Gertrude Hoy and Mrs. Bonnie Coffman, both of  south Bend; six
grandchildren; four great-grandchildren;
four brothers, Clyde Rigby and Samuel Rigby, both of Cedar Rapids,  Iowa, and
George and Galen, both of Sand Point, Idaho; and two sisters, Mrs.  Maude
Schuchman of center Junction, Iowa, and Mrs. Violet Conners of San Jose,  Calif.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday  at
the Orvis Funeral Home, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday with 
rev. Dean Freed pastor of the Forestbrook United Missionary Church,
officiating.  Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park.
