South Bend, Helen L. Johnston, 76, of St. Joseph's Care Center-West, formerly of 23700 Marquette St., died at 2:45 p.m. Monday in the care center. Miss Johnston retired in 1986 from Master Collectors, Downers Grove, Ill. She was born July 24, 1917 in New Haven, Mich., and lived in South Bend for eight years coming from Downers Grove. She is survived by several friends, including Lillian Chrzanowski of South Bend.

There will be no services or visitation. Cremation will take place. Kaniewski Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
