SOUTH BEND - Tyrone "Ty" Johnson was born on June 28,
1945, in Memphis, TN, to the late Snowdy and Ruby Johnson. Ty was
a loving father, grandfather, and friend to all who knew him. He
enjoyed cooking and was a chef for many years. He was a true
Michigan State fan. He enjoyed fishing and had two cats that he
truly loved, Beetle Juice and Ozzie. On April 14, 2010, Ty was
called to rest. He was preceded in death by his parents; his
sister, Peggy Duke; and his identical twin brother, Jerome
Johnson. Left to cherish his memory are his only child, Shelly
(Rickie) Johnson-Jefferies of South Bend, IN; two brothers, Jerry
(Margie) Johnson of Camble, CA, and Terry (Rhonda) Johnson of
Pittsburgh, CA; three sisters, Barbara (Nate) of Sacramento, CA,
Dorothy Johnson of Oakley, CA, Jalian (Tony) Elder of Baton
Rouge, Louisiana; two wonderful grandchildren, Dreion Tyrone
Walker and Alexander Jeffries, both of South Bend, IN; a good
friend, Kathy Johnson Jackson; a special aunt, Alma Miller of
Niles, MI; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Services
for Mr. Tyrone Johnson will be held on Friday, April 23, 2010, in
the Faith Apostolic Ministries, 935 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend,
IN 46628. Visiting hour will begin at 11:30 a.m.; funeral service
will begin at 12 noon. Burial will follow funeral service at
Highland Cemetery. The Clark O'Neal Funeral Home has been
entrusted with arrangements.
