Ruth M. Johnson, 86, a life-long resident of South Bend, died Monday, May 26, in Ironwood Rehabilitation Center in South Bend. She was born September 18, 1910, in South Bend and was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Anna Jennings, her husband, Wilbur V. Johnson, a sister, Bernice Piper, and two brothers, Claude and Harry Jennings. She had been a member of Morris Park Country Club, the Elks Club and Mish-a-Bend Duplicate Club.

Surviving family members include her daughter, Lois (Zent) Sanderson of Barrington, Ill.; her grandchildren, Sherrie Hendricks of Algonquin, Ill., and Brad Zent of Lake In The Hills, Ill.; and great-grandchildren, Ashley and Jameson Hendricks and Bradley and Kevin Zent.

Graveside services and burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 29, in Highland Cemetery, 2257 Portage Ave., South Bend. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions would be appreciated to the American Cancer Society. Forest G. Hay Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
