SOUTH BEND - Christine Johnson, 62,
of 1422 N. Fremont St., died of natural causes Saturday in St.
Joseph's Medical Center. Mrs. Johnson was employed by Northwood
Health Care Services as a certified nursing assistant, she
retired from St. Joseph's Medical Center as a certified nursing
assistant. She was born Feb. 14, 1934, in Mississippi and lived
in South Bend since 1943.
In 1960, in South Bend, she married Arthur
Johnson. He survives with a daughter, Stella Ivory of
Milwaukee; two sons, Eugene and Steven, both of South Bend; nine
grandchildren; five sisters, Willa Riley and Doris Wright,
both of South Bend, Minnie Bonds and Earlene Wardlow,
both of Chicago, and Addie Burton of Kalamazoo; and two
brothers, Robert Ivory of Pontiac, Mich., and John Ivory of South
Bend. She was a member of Saints Memorial Church of God in
Christ.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the
church. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call one
hour before services in the church. Clark's Funeral Chapel is in
charge of arrangements.
