Services for Sister Jeannine Jochman CSC,
52, of 821 N. Blaine Avenue, who died at 5:20 p.m. Sunday in
Saint Mary’s Convent will be said at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in
the Church of Our Lady of Loretto at St. Mary’s with burial
in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery at St. Mary’s. Friends may
call in the convent parlor after 3 p.m. Wednesday in the convent
parlors, where a wake will be at 7 p.m.
She was born Sept. 30, 1939 in Peoria, Ill.,
as Jeannine Rosalie Jochman. She entered the Congregation of the
Sisters of the Holy Cross on Aug. 1, 1957, coming from Peoria.
She was received as a novice on Aug. 15, 1958 and professed her
vows Aug. 15, 1960. She was assigned to teaching, and served at
schools in Chicago; Harvard, Ill.; and Peoria. She was associate
superintendent of curriculum from 1977 to 1978 and
superintendent of schools from 1878 to 1985 for the Fort
Wayne-South Bend Diocese and resident hall director at the
University of Notre Dame for five years.
