Sister Carol Ann Jez, CSFN, age 56, of Marayong, New South Wales, Australia, passed away July 9, 1999, after a brief illness.

She was born on March 1, 1943, in South Bend, and had lived in Australia for the past 27 years. At the time of her death, she held the position of Chaplain of the Malawa and Silverwater Prison. Sister Carol would have celebrated her 40th Jubilee on September 4, 1999.

She is survived by her mother, Josephine Jez of South Bend; two sisters, Barbara Ore of Aurora, Colorado, and Dorothy Fodrocy of South Bend; three nephews and three nieces. Preceding her in death was her father, Albin Jez, who died in 1995; and her brother Raymond, who died in 1994.

Funeral services were held in Our Lady of Czestochowa Polish War Memorial Chapel on July 13, 1999, and burial took place in Pine Grove Memorial Park, Marayong. Most Reverend Peter Ingham, Auxiliary Bishop, Archdiocese of Sydney, was the Principal Celebrant.
