Tonya J. Jernigan, 30, of Marblehead Drive, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away at 7:19 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 19, in her residence. She was born on Dec. 1, 1967, in Long Beach, Calif., and had lived in this area most of her life. She had been a medical assistant in the field of nephrology for the past three years.

She is survived by her parents, Thomas S. Jernigan of Bradenton, Fla., and her mother, Connie J. Allman of Terre Haute, Ind.; two sons, Michael A. McKay of Oconomowoc, Wis., and Tommy D. Kerns of Mishawaka; a daughter, Carrie M. Kerns of Mishawaka; a maternal grandmother, Mamie Price of Terre Haute; her fiance, John A. Hoyt and his son, Jacob N. Hoyt; a brother, Jeffrey A. Jernigan of Elkhart, Ind.; and by two sisters, Tabatha L. Helms and Tammy R. Griffith, both of Terre Haute.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday in the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka, where friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, Ind.
