SOUTH BEND - Willie Charles Jenkins, 58, loving son,
father, grandfather, brother and uncle of West LaSalle Avenue in
South Bend, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 15, 2008, at
Burnham Health Care in Burnham, Illinois. Mr. Jenkins was born on
December 17, 1949, in Cleveland, Mississippi, to the union of the
late Henry Sr. and Gracie (Reid) Jenkins. He moved from
Cleveland, Mississippi, to South Bend in 1953. Mr. Jenkins
graduated from Central High School and was an interior decorator.
He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Gracie Jenkins of
South Bend; five daughters, Rosetta Jenkins, Aisha Jenkins,
Makisha (and her husband, Terry) Johnson, Shenna (and her
husband, Joseph) Walker, all of South Bend, and Rhonda
Jenkins of Indianapolis, Indiana; one son, De'Angelo Jenkins of
South Bend; two brothers, T. Floyd (and his wife, Della) Jenkins
and Carl Jenkins; three sisters, Grace (and her husband, Richard)
Broadway and Valarie Jenkins, all of South Bend, and
Colette (and her husband, Darryl) Parker of Warren, Ohio;
15 grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other
relatives and friends. Along with his father, Henry Jenkins Sr.,
one brother, Henry Jenkins Jr., also preceded him in death. Mr.
Jenkins will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral services for Mr. Willie Jenkins will be held on Friday, Nov. 21, 2008, in Alford's Mortuary, with burial following at Highland Cemetery. Visitation will take place one hour prior to services in the chapel. Arrangements have been entrusted to Alford's Mortuary.
