Bernice Jedrzejewski: (South Bend Tribune 9/10/1928)
Within 20 minutes following the death of Mrs. Bernice Jedrzejewski, age 50, of 1031 West Sample street, Saturday afternoon, her mother, Mrs. Frances Sosinski, age 68, died in the home of another daughter, Mrs. Martha Wenclaw, 910 Catalpa avenue, from shock and an illness from which she had suffered for the last 18 months.
Mrs. Jedrzejewski, who was the wife of Jacob Jedrzejewski, died in St. Josephs hospital at 3 oclock following an operation for appendicitis. She had been ill a week. A lifelong resident of South Bend, she was born here Jan. 2, 1878. Her marriage took place in St. Hedwiges Roman Catholic church June 3, 1897. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are two daughters, Mrs. Lottie Poznoski and Mrs. Sylvia Janowiak; three sons, Edward, Henry and Harry Jedrzejewski, of South Bend, and two grandchildren. Four brothers, Michael, Frank and Stanley Sosinski, of this city, and John Sosinski, of Chicago, and three sisters, Mrs. Wenclaw, Mrs. Hattie Pielroski and Mrs. Sadie Oliniczak, all of South Bend, also survive. The body may be viewed in the residence until the time of the funeral services which will be held in St. Hedwiges church Wednesday morning at 9 oclock. The Rev. S.A. Gruza, the pastor, will officiate and burial will be in St. Josephs cemetery.
Her mother was a native of Poland, where she was born Sept. 29, 1859. Her residence here covered a period of 56 years. In addition to her children, named above, she is survived by 20 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, and three sisters, Mrs. Agnes Gonsiorowski, Mrs. Mary Stoszewski and Mrs. Victoria Grzegorek, all of South Bend. Funeral services for Mrs. Sosinski will be conducted in St. Hedwiges church at 9 oclock Thursday morning, with Father Gruza also officiating and interment will be in Cedar Grove cemetery.
