SOUTH BEND - Evelyn Jarze, 89, of South Bend, passed away
on Thursday, February 21, in St. Paul's Retirement Community,
South Bend. She was born on November 7, 1918, in South Bend, to
the late Nicholas and Antoinette (Machowski) Krojniewski,
and was a lifelong area resident.
On May 24, 1941, she married George L.
Jarze, who preceded her in death on December 9, 1984. Along with
her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three
sisters, Stella Lapczynski, Jean Wrobleski and
Lottie Sotkiewicz; and by two brothers, Walter and Al
Krojniewski. Evelyn is survived by her son, Lawrence (Mary) Jarze
of South Bend; three grandchildren, Jennifer (Eric) Gaul,
David and Kevin Jarze; one great-grandson, Jacob Gaul; and two
sisters, Dorothy Nawrot of South Bend and Alice Bala
of Lyons, IL. She was a parishioner of St. Casimir Catholic
Church where she belonged to the Altar and Rosary Society and the
Senior Citizens Club.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 PM Monday,
February 25, 2008, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix
Drive, South Bend, where a parish Rosary will be recited at 4 PM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM Tuesday,
February 26, 2008, in St. Casimir Catholic Church, where friends
may call one hour prior to the Mass in church. Entombment to
follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend. Memorial contributions
may be made to St. Casimir Catholic Church or to the charity of
the donor's choice.
