Stella Jankowski, 71, of Woodhill
Lane, South Bend, Ind., died at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, in
Memorial Hospital. She was born April 30, 1930, in South Bend,
and was the daughter of Vincent and Michalene Wawrzyniak. Mrs.
Jankowski retired in 2000 from St. Adalbert Catholic Church where
she worked as a cook.
On July 7, 1951, in South Bend, she married
Robert Jankowski, who survives. She is also survived by a son,
James (Judy) Jankowski of South Bend; two grandsons, Corey and
Daniel Jankowski, both of South Bend; and five sisters, Eleanor Kubsiak
of Florida, Irene Pajakowski, Jane Woltman and
Sally Borkowski, all of South Bend, and Sister M.
Luiza, C.S.S.F., of Lovina, Mich. Mrs. Jankowski was preceded
in death by two brothers, Lucian and Edwin.
Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m.
today in the ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, with
a Rosary at 4:30 p.m. Services will be held at 9 a.m. Friday,
Jan. 18, in St. Adalbert Catholic Church, with entombment to
follow in the Resurrection Gardens Mausoleum at St. Joseph
Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Adalbert
Building Fund.
