Stanley H. Jankowski

March 18, 1913 -- June 17, 2000

Stanley H. Jankowski, age 87, of Walnut Rd., New Carlisle, IN, died at 8:20 p.m. Saturday in St. Joseph Care Center. He was born on March 18, 1913, in Rolling Prairie, IN, and lived in this area all of his life. Mr. Jankowski retired in 1982 from the Bendix Corporation after 44 years of service. Mr. Jankowski is survived by his daughter, Joan (Richard) Fair of South Bend; seven grandchildren, Brenda (Jeff) Bucher of South Bend, Barbara Jankowski of Indianapolis, Kevin (Dory) Jankowski of west Lafayette, IN, Cathy (James) Hodge of Murrells Inlet, SC, Geoffrey (Betsy) Jankowski of Bremen, IN, Thomas (Jill) Jankowski of Michigan City, IN, and Joseph Jankowski, Jr., of Michigan City; twelve great-grandchildren, Jeffrey Jr., Nicholas, Heidi, Jacob and Zachary Bucher, Christine Jankowski, Christopher, Jennifer and Adam Jankowski, Macy and Josie Jankowski and Blake Jankowski; and one sister, Henrietta Glon of South Bend. Preceding Mr. Jankowski in death was a son, Joseph Jankowski, who died May 29, 1989; his parents, William and Wanda (Kasprzak) Jankowski; four brothers, Leo, William Jr., Frank and John; and one sister, Helen Topalski.

 

Family and friends may call from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. today in the ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd., where a rosary will be said at 4:00 p.m. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church, with burial to follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery. Mr. Jankowski was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #58, St. Joseph Young Men's Society, Crumstown Conservation Club and Bendix Retirees Club. A light is from our household gone, a voice we loved is stilled A place is vacant in our home which never can be filled. 'Twas hard to part with one so dear, we little thought the time was near. Farewell dear one, your life is past. Our love for you till end will last. We have to mourn the loss of one we did our best to save. Beloved on earth, regretted still, remembered in the grave.
