Regina J. Jankowski

Regina J. Jankowski, 91, of Chicago Trail, New Carlisle, Ind., died at 10:10 a.m. on Monday, March 23, in Miller's Merry Manor, New Carlisle.

She was born on Aug. 20, 1906, in South Bend, Ind., to Leo and Stella (Janowski) Grzesk. She was a lifelong area resident.

On May 14, 1946, as Regina Grzesk, she married John Jankowski, who preceded her in death on March 12, 1998. Mrs. Jankowski was also preceded in death by her daughter, Christine E. Jankowski, who died on Oct. 17, 1996; two brothers, Stanley Grzesk and Thaddeus Grzesk; and by three sisters, Helen Wroblewski, Severina Mucha and Sylvia Grzesk.

She is survived by a sister, Natalie Mrozinski of South Bend; a brother-in-law, Stanley Jankowski of New Carlisle; and by a sister-in-law, Henrietta Glon of South Bend.

Mrs. Jankowski was a member of the Rosary Society of St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church, Terre Coupee.

Friends called from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday in the St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Road, South Bend, where a Rosary was said at 4 p.m.

Services will be at 10 a.m. today at St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church, Terre Coupee, with burial to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
