George James

Mr. George ''Buster'' James, 58,
loving husband, father and friend who resided on North Huey
Street, South Bend, Ind., passed away at 10:44 p.m. on Friday,
May 7, in Memorial Hospital.
He was born to the union of Thomas and
Dorothy (Fulce) James in Sandusky, Ill., on Sept. 20,
1940. His father, Thomas James, preceded him in death. Coming
from Cairo, Ill., he moved to South Bend in 1961.
In 1962, shortly after moving to South Bend,
he married Diana Kallmeyer. He was honorably discharged
from the United States Army. He retired from Bethlehem Steel
after 32 years of employment as a certified electrician.
He is survived by his wife, Diana; five
daughters, Stephanie (Ronald) Henry, Kimberly (Roy) Elliott,
Marie Poindexter and Clarrisa James, all of South Bend,
and Chelsie James of St. Paul, Minn.; two sons, Synika James of
St. Paul and Kevin Wilson of South Bend; nine grandchildren; his
mother and stepfather, Dorothy (James) and Charles Hoskin;
a sister, Dorothula James of Portland, Ore.; two brothers, Floyd
James of Dallas, Texas, and Robert James of Portland; a
stepbrother, Ray Hoskin of South Bend; a stepsister,
Shenell Hoskin of South Bend; two aunts, Mattie Wilson and
Lavern Vaughn; and by other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Mr. James will be at
noon on Thursday in New Horizons Outreach Ministry. Friends may
call from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Alford's Mortuary, where
arrangements are being handled.
