Gene Artice James

Gene Artice James, 48, of East Dayton
Street, South Bend, Ind., passed away as a result of a drowning
accident on Sunday, July 9. Gene was born to the union of Archie
and Ola Mae (Martin) James on Jan. 17, 1952, in Holly
Springs, Miss., and had re-sided in South Bend for 46 years. He
was preceded in death by his mother, Ola Mae James; and by two
brothers, Henry James and Irvin James. He was a self-employed
construction worker. Loving family members who will mourn his
loss include two daughters, Anika James and Jessica James, both
of South Bend; two sons, Derek James of Milwaukee, Wis., and
Bryan Murrary of South Bend; one grandchild; his father,
Archie James; one sister, Lisa (Luke) Sconiers; four
brothers, Tommy James, Richard (Angela) James, Fred Mitchem
and Greg (Elaine) Mitchem; along with many other relatives and
friends.
Funeral services for Mr. James will be at 1
p.m. on Thursday, July 13, in Alford's Mortuary, where friends
may call at noon.
