MISHAWAKA - Ethel S. Jacobs, 96, of Day Road in Mishawaka,
passed away November 25, 2007, in her son's residence of natural
causes. Ethel was born September 8, 1911, in Middletown,
Pennsylvania, to Samuel D. and Mary D. (Poorman) Brown.
On February 19, 1929, the former Ms. Brown
married Harry G. Jacobs Sr. in Elkhart, Indiana. Harry preceded
her in death, passing away on November 25, 1969. Surviving are
her children, Beulah (Edward) Rosenbalm of Mishawaka and
Harry G. (Nancy) Jacobs Jr. of Mishawaka, along with a
sister, Daisy Sampson of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania.
Ethel is also survived by a son-in-law, Jerome Torzewski
and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and
great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her
daughter, Barbara Torzewski; her son and daughter-in-law, Donald
and June Jacobs; and 11 brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be held from noon to 2 p.m.
Thursday, Nov. 29, 2007, in the Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776
McKinley Highway, Osceola, Indiana. Reverend Jeff Truex will
conduct the funeral services beginning at 2:00 p.m. Thursday,
Nov. 29, 2007, in the Chapel Hill Funeral Home. Interment will
follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Ethel was a
homemaker. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, growing
flowers, and fishing trips with her late husband. God gave us
a wonderful gift...we called her Mother. In her memory,
donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
