MISHAWAKA - Agnes M. Jacobs, 83, of Mishawaka, passed away
July 1, 2008, in her residence. She was born on October 26, 1924,
in Mishawaka, to the late John and Marie (Raab) Jacobs.
Agnes graduated from St. Joseph Academy in June 1942. Agnes
worked in the shipping department at Dodge Manufacturing,
retiring in 1983. She was a member of St. Monica Catholic Church.
Agnes was an avid collector of dolls; she traveled extensively to
see the United States and Canada. Her most memorable trips were
to Hawaii and Alaska. In her younger years she enjoyed bowling
and golf. She is survived by one niece, Judy (William) Simon
of South Bend; one nephew, Jim (Elsa) Jacobs of Del Rio, Texas,
three great-nieces, Jennifer (Thomas) Douthart of South Bend,
JoAnn Jacobs of Beaumont, Texas, and Jeannie Wyatt of Orange,
Texas; along with a great-nephew, Andrew (Maggie) Simon, South
Bend. Agnes also had two great-great-nieces, Danyel and (D.J.)
Dani Jean, and one great-great-nephew, Daniel. She was preceded
in death by a brother, Edward Jacobs.
There will be no visitation. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 7th, in the chapel at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park in Granger at 11 a.m., with Father Jeffery Largent officiating. Bubb Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made in Agnes' name to St. Monica Catholic Church.
