Katherine L. Jackson, 91, of St. Paul's Retirement Community, 3602 South Ironwood Drive, died following an illness at 8:20 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 20, in St. Paul's. Miss Jackson was born on March 16, 1909, in South Bend, Ind., to the late W. Hale and Ethel (Bugbee) Jackson, and was a lifetime resident. She is survived by a sister, Janet J. (Albert) Graf of Peoria, Ariz.

She retired as the business manager of the American Red Cross chapter in South Bend in 1974 after 33 years of service. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, South Bend, United Presbyterian Women, Chapter BX of the P.E.O. Sisterhood, Beta Chapter of Thalia Sorority, Hearing and Speech Center Auxiliary, and the board of directors of the American Red Cross.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 23, in the chapel of the First Presbyterian Church, 333 W. Colfax Avenue, South Bend, with Rev. David Morrow officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to services in the chapel of the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 333 West Colfax Avenue, South Bend, IN 46601; or to the American Red Cross, St. Joseph County Chapter, 3220 East Jefferson Boulevard, South Bend, IN 46615. The WELSHEIMER FUNERAL HOME, 521 N. William Street, is handling arrangements.
