James E. Jackson

Mr.
James Edward Jackson, Sr., 46, dear husband, father, grandfather,
and brother who resided on North Allen Street, South Bend, Ind.,
died following an extended illness at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, March
24, in Hines Veterans Hospital, Hines, Ill.
He
was born to the union of Jim and Ernestine (Hodges) Jackson on March
18, 1954, in Little Rock, Ark. In his early childhood James moved
with his family to South Bend where he resided until his death.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim Jackson and
Ernestine Brown; and by two brothers, Jimmie Lee Jackson and
Ernest Jackson.
On
May 21, 1977, in South Bend, he married Mary Ann Smith. He leaves
to cherish his memory his wife, Mary Ann; a daughter, Shanice
Jackson; four sons, Tyrone T. Jackson, James E. Jackson, Jr.,
Ronnie L. Jackson and Damien Lamar Jackson, all of South Bend;
five grandchildren, James E. Jackson, III, Damien Lamar Jackson,
Jr., Ronnie L. Jackson, Jr., Taionne Lacey and Chrishawn
McKinney; one sister, Margaret Jackson of Waukegan, Ill.; a
stepsister, Shirley Bond of Denver, Colo.; eight brothers, Casey
(Eileen) Jackson of North Liberty, Ind., Robert Jackson of
Huntsville, Ala., Charles (Janice) Jackson, Michael Jackson, Will
Jackson, Henry Jackson, DeWayne Hodges and Christopher Hodges,
all of South Bend; a stepbrother, Melvin Bond of Denver; a
special daughter, Margarita McGhee; an aunt, Lucille Davis of
Covert, Mich.; an uncle, Steve Jackson of Muskegon, Mich.; a
sister-in-law, Bevlon Jackson of Waukegan; along with a host of
many other relatives and friends.
Funeral
services for Mr. Jackson will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday,
March 30, in Greater St. John Missionary Baptist Church, where
friends may call one hour before services. Burial will follow in Chapel
Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, Ind.
Friends
may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today, March 29, in Alford's Mortuary,
to which arrangements have been entrusted.
