Elroy Jackson, 64, of Lincoln Way
West, Osceola, Ind., passed away unexpectedly after a very brief
illness at 4:38 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 8, in St. Joseph Community
Hospital, Mishawaka, Ind. He was born on June 13, 1934, in San
Antonio, Texas, to the late LeRoy and Weber (Carter)
Jackson. Elroy was also preceded in death by a stepson, Eric Metts
in 1996; and by a granddaughter, Naomi Jackson in 1996.
On July 22, 1971, in Anover, New Brunswick,
Canada, Elroy married the former Mary LeBlanc, who
survives. He is also survived by five daughters, Darla Jackson of
South Bend, Ind., Jackie Brown, Debra Jackson, Evangeline
Jackson and Mary Jackson, all of Kingfisher, Okla.; a son, Danny
Jackson of Kingfisher, Okla.; five stepdaughters, Courtney
LeBlanc of Mishawaka, Anita Metts of Houston, Texas, Lisa Evans
of San Antonio, Janet Jones and Monica Reid of
South Bend; five stepsons, Kenneth and James Metts of Lincoln
Heath AFB, England, Charles Metts of Portland, Maine, Gary Metts
of Houston and Kevin Metts of Indianapolis, Ind.; 41
grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Beatrice
Jackson, Bernice Jackson and Leola Moore, all of San
Antonio; and by a brother, LeRoy Jackson of San Antonio. Mr.
Jackson retired from the United States Air Force after 21 years
of service. Most of his time in the military was as a maintenance
technician.
Friends may visit with the Jackson family
from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 13, in the
Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, Mishawaka. Services will be at 1
p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 14, in the funeral home. Interment will
follow in the Olice Cemetery, Wakarusa, Ind.
