SOUTH BEND - Ruth F. Izdepski, 78, of 1739 Southeast Drive, died at 6:30 p.m. Friday in St. Joseph's Medical Center after an illness. Mrs. Izdepski retired in 1980 and was a teacher for 30 years in Berrien Springs, Kalamazoo and Knoxville, Tenn. She was born Nov. 4, 1915, in Onslow, Iowa. Her first husband, Dr. David Cole, preceded her in death. In 1982 she married Paul Izdepski. He survives with a daughter, Beverly Brooks of Winston-Salem, N.C.; a son, David Cole of Sevierville, Tenn.; two stepdaughters, Marti Gilmore and Tricia Izdepski, both of South Bend; three stepsons, Michael Ladd of Portland, Maine, David Ladd of Holland, Mich., and Richard Izdepski of Fort Wayne; two grandsons; four step-grandchildren; and two sisters, Esther Bent of Ripon, Wis., and Jean Winters of Waunakee, Wis. She was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority and American Association of University Women.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Matthew Cathedral. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. today in Guisinger Colonial Chapel Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph County Literacy Council or St. Vincent DePaul Society.
