SOUTH BEND - Charles E. Irvin, 59, of Kentucky Street, died at 7:30 a.m. Monday in Transitional Health Services after an illness. Mr. Irvin was a former employee of AM General Corp. He was born Jan. 31, 1935, in South Bend, and was a lifelong area resident.

He is survived by two sisters, Lois Sexton of South Bend and Delores Rach of Eau Claire, Mich.; and two brothers, Norris and Linden, both of South Bend. He was an Army veteran and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 50.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Forest G. Hay Funeral Home, 1201 S. Michigan St. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County Inc.
