Dorothy M. Hyduk (Oct. 31, 1915 - June 10, 2002).

Dorothy M. Hyduk, 87, of South Jackson Street, South Bend, Ind., passed away on Monday, June 10, in her residence.

Mrs. Hyduk was born on Oct. 31, 1915, in South Bend, to the late Michael and Mary Markiewicz. On June 21, 1941, in St. Casimir Catholic Church, South Bend, as Dorothy Markiewicz, she married Mike Hyduk, who preceded her in death on Oct. 26, 1984. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Regina Markiewicz and Alice Gruber; and by three brothers, Daniel, Leo and Clem Markiewicz.

Mrs. Hyduk is survived by a son, Tim Hyduk of South Bend; and by a grandson, Joseph Hyduk of Rolling Prairie, Ind.

She worked as the secretary at St. Casimir Church for 35 years before retiring in 1979. She was a parishioner at St. Casimir as well as a member of the Senior Citizens Club at the parish. Mrs. Hyduk was also a longtime cook for the Breezers Club of South Bend.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today, June 12, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, where a parish Rosary will be recited at 4 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 13, in St. Casimir Church, with entombment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
