Bernice M. Hyduk, 80, of South Bend,
Ind., passed away at 9:20 a.m. on Friday, March 26, in her
residence. Mrs. Hyduk was born on Feb. 18, 1919, in South Bend,
and was a lifelong resident. On May 30, 1945, in St. Stanislaus
Church, as Bernice M. Kominkiewicz, she married John P.
Hyduk, who survives. Shw is also survived by her daughter, Anne
Hyduk of South Bend; her son, Terry of South Bend; and her
sister, Loretta Ewald of Granger, Ind. A brother, Leo
Kominkiewicz preceded her in death.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be
celebrated at 1 p.m. on Monday in St. John the Baptist Church.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from
2 to 8 p.m. today in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix
Drive, where a parish vigil will be held at 3 p.m., followed by a
family Rosary at 4 p.m. Mrs. Hyduk was a member of St. John the
Baptist Parish and the Apostleship of Prayer of St. Stanislaus
Church. "She was a great mother and wonderful wife."
She loved the Rosary and was devoted to St. Anne. Mrs. Hyduk was
sick for a long time. Her husband, John, was her primary
caretaker for eleven years along with her children. Memorial

St. John Way, South Bend, IN 46628. God saw you getting tired.
And a cure was not to be. So He put his arms around you And
whispered, "Come to me." The golden gates stood open;
God knew you needed rest. His garden must be beautiful. For he
only takes the best. It broke our hearts to lose you, But you did
not go alone. For part of us went with you. The day God called
you home.
