July 6, 1950 - April 14, 2010SOUTH BEND - Paul M. Huyvaert, 59, of South Bend, died on Wednesday, April 14, 2010. He was born in Mishawaka on July 6, 1950, to James and Patricia (Baughman) Huyvaert. He is survived by daughters, Jennifer (Joseph) Hanback of South Bend, Kathryn Huyvaert of Colorado; and by two granddaughters, Lillian and Kayelynn Hanback. Also surviving are his godparents, George and Stella Vanhoutdreve; uncle Bob and aunt Ruth Huyvaert, and uncle Tom and aunt Sarah Huyvaert. Mr. Huyvaert was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert. He was a member of Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Seniors Group of the church. He enjoyed writing, reading and computers. Paul graduated from Mishawaka High School in 1968 and had a degree in writing from I.U.S.B. A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, April 19, 2010, in Bubb Funeral Chapel, with his pastor, Steven Mischke, officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services.
