Francis J. Huys

Oct. 23, 1922 - Nov. 3, 1999

Francis J. "Frank" Huys, 77, of N. Indiana Avenue, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away at 8:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 3, in his residence.

Mr. Huys was born on Oct. 23, 1922, in Baker, Ore., as the son of the late Camiel and Emerence (Van De Weile) Huys.

On Nov. 28, 1946, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mishawaka, Ind., he married the former Inez L. Gray. She preceded him in death on June 13, 1999. He was also preceded in death by a son, Richard Camiel Huys; two sisters, Yvonne Hiler and Mary Molnar; and by two brothers, George Huys and Gerard Huys.

Mr. Huys is survived by five daughters, Mary Beth (Ken) Lucas, Nancy (Robert) Schroder, Janice (Larry) Paszli, all of South Bend, Ind., Anne (Stephen) Jester of Mishawaka, and Frances Allen of Rocky Mount, N.C.; a son, Stephen (Paula) Huys of Lawrenceville, Ga.; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; a sister, Adeline Windsor of Mishawaka; two brothers, Al Huys and Bill Huys, both of Mishawaka.

Mr. Huys was employed by Interstate Bakeries for 25 years before retiring in 1976. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mishawaka.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka, where a Rosary will be recited at 2:30 p.m. Friends may also call one hour prior to the services on Monday in the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Monday in the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mishawaka with Rev. Robert Yast officiating. Entombment will follow at Highland Cemetery, South Bend.
