Virginia E. Hurst, 77, of Third Street, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away at 3:40 a.m., Sunday, Nov. 3, at St. Joseph Community Hospital, Mishawaka, after an illness.
She was born on April 5, 1919, in Mishawaka, and was a lifelong area resident.
On Sept. 2, 1939, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mishawaka, as Virginia E. Doll, she married Benton E. Hurst, who preceded her in death on June 24, 1963.
She is survived by two daughters, Rebecca A. Bandy of South Bend and Deborah A. Van Bruaene of Mishawaka; five sons, Benton E. Hurst, Jr. of South Bend, Carl. J. Hurst of Tucson, Ariz., and Robert A. Hurst, Paul G. Hurst and Dennis D. Hurst, all of Mishawaka; 15 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and three sisters, Marie Housand, Gertrude Doll and Eleanor Norris, all of Mishawaka.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Judith Ann Hurst, one grandchild, and four brothers and two sisters.
Mrs. Hurst was employed by the former Bendix Home Appliance Store, the Kentucky Fried Chicken (Lincoln Way West), Goldblatt's Department Store, and retired from Kellmeyer Services in 1991.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mishawaka. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, at Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th St., Mishawaka, where a rosary will be recited at 3:30 p.m.
