Mary C. Hunt

May 10, 1903 - Feb. 21, 1997

Mary C. Hunt died following an illness at Cardinal Nursing Home on February 21, 1997.

Mrs. Hunt was born May 10, 1903, to Julius Fuller and Estella Pickett Fuller in Mishawaka, Ind. A graduate of Indiana University in 1924, she was a teacher for 18 years at Mary Phillips School in Mishawaka, and retired to marry Russell G. Hunt on June 17, 1940. Mr. Hunt preceded her in death on May 17, 1972.

Mr. and Mrs. Hunt operated the Russell G. Hunt State Farm Insurance Agency for 30 years, retiring in 1969. Mrs. Hunt was a member of First United Methodist Church, Progress Club, Women's Club, Circle Group, Budget Corner, Tri Kappa, DAR, with many charities actively served.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Russell and Connie Hunt. Other survivors are Mary Jo Jackson, South Bend, Ind.; Janet and Henry Volkman, Dallas, Texas; Helen and Orlan Heck, Snohomish, Wash.; Mary and Ron Holscher, Portland, Ore.; Alice and Russell Verby, Tulsa, Okla.; Erwin and Susan Schroeder, Herndon, Va.; Thomas and Patricia Bamford, Oakton, Va.; John Schroeder, Portland, Ore.; Pat and Dan Trethawey, South Bend; Peg and Dave Barrier, South Bend; and many great-great- nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Hunt was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Fuller and Richard Fuller; and by four sisters, Sybil Bamford, Florence Leach, Elizabeth Schroeder and Lillie Buetter.

Friends may call from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 p.m on Sunday at Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William Street, South Bend.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Monday at First United Methodist Church, South Bend. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, Ind.
