Claude Hunter

September 6, 1909 – October 29, 1970

Claude Hunter, 61, of 613 E. South St., died at 1:45am today in St Joseph’s Hospital following an illness of one year.

He was born on September 6, 1909, in Hymera IN, coming to South Bend in 1942 from that city.  On November 1, 1934, in Sullivan IN, he married Delma Crist, who survives.  Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Georgia Johnston of South Bend and Mrs. Connie Brumbaugh of Mishawaka; a brother, Donald Hunter of Atlanta GA; three half-brothers, three half-sisters and three grandchildren.

Friends may call from 3 to 9pm Friday in the Ballard-Sprague Funeral Home, Mishawaka, and funeral services will be conducted at 2pm Saturday in the Shiloh Assembly of God, Shelburn IN.  Rev. Oscar Beadle, pastor, will officiate and burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery, Hymera.  Mrs. Hunter retired form Sears Roebuck & Co in 1969.  He was a member of Local 364, International Brotherhood of Teamsters, Chauffeurs, Warehousemen and Helpers.
