MISHAWAKA - Carl W. Hunt, 77, formerly of Mishawaka,
passed away, after a long battle with cancer, in his residence in
Sturgis, MI surrounded by his family. Carl was born on March 7,
1931 to the late Ernest and Ada (Vandercar) Hunt. Carl
more commonly known as "Sam" graduated from Mishawaka
High School. After high school he served his country in the
United States Navy. On November 26, 1955 in Mishawaka he married
Joan Rodgers. In 1988 he retired from Indiana Bell after
36 years of service. His retirement years were spent in Michigan
and Florida. "Sam" is survived by his wife of
fifty-three years, Joan, and their three children, Gary (Deb)
Hunt of Sturgis, Michigan, Julie (Rick) Ensley, of Fort
Wayne, IN, and Brad (Maria) Hunt of Granger, IN. He is also
survived by four grandchildren, Kaleigh and Ryan Ensley of Fort
Wayne, and April and Monica Hunt of Granger, one brother, Charles
E. Hunt of Mishawaka. "Sam" was preceded in death by
four brothers, Lewis, Dayton, Robert, and Richard.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm, Sunday, November 30th in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka, and one hour prior to the service. The service will be held in the funeral chapel at 11 am on Monday, December 1st. Internment will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Three Rivers, Michigan.
