SOUTH BEND - Marilyn "Jo" Humphreys, 73, passed
away on December 19 at 5:00 p.m. in Regency Place, South Bend,
following a 7-year battle with cancer. Marilyn was born on August
22, 1935, to Varnell and Bonnabelle Watts (Landaw)
in Mishawaka, Indiana, and was a lifelong resident. Marilyn
worked in the South Bend, Mishawaka area as a waitress at some of
the nicest restaurants in town, including Russ' Fine Foods, The
Loft, Hans House, and retired from the Granger Tap and Grill.
Surviving Marilyn are her children, Donna Day of
Mishawaka, Randy (Katie), Rick (Diana) Day and Kerry (Liz) Day.
Her brother, Jerry (Judy) Watts, also survives, with 13
grandchildren, Isreal, Uriah, Leigh Ann, Melissa, Carrie,
Michael, Ian, Ashley, Lee, Leann, Brett, Brook and Brittney. Also
surviving are 15 great- grandchildren, Shane, Christina,
Zachariah, Kaley, Madison, Skylar, Jasmine, Jonathan, Aidan,
Brenden, Peyton, Hattie, Donald IV, Dominic and Gaby, and one
great-grandson expected in April. She is also survived by four
special nieces, Becky Wojcik, Bonnie Shroyer, Susan
Boyd and Teresa Zeltwanger. Marilyn was preceded in
death by her parents, a son, Michael Day, and by her sister,
Sandra Schwepler.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in Bubb Funeral
Chapel, where friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. today.
Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
