Clifford A. Humphrey
Clifford A. Humphrey, aged 44, of 513 South Ironwood drive,
operator of Humphrey's service station at Mishawaka and Beyer
avenues, died at 10:30 am Thursday in his residence after an
illness of one day with a heart ailment. He was born in South
Bend, May 15, 1902, and spent his entire life here. In 1923 in
South Bend, he married Miss Elva Carle, who survives. Other
survivors are the parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Humphrey, South
Bend; a daughter; Patsy at home; a sister, Mrs. Pearl Winthers,
Mishawaka, and a brother, Edward R. Humphrey, Chicago. Friends
may call in the Hollis chapel after 7 pm today and until 2 pm
Monday when the funeral services will be conducted in Holy
Trinity Lutheran church by Rev. Robert H. Daube, pastor. Burial
will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park. He was a member of
the holy Trinity church; South Bend lodge No. 294, F. & A.M;
South Bend consistory; Orak Shrine, Hammond, Ind.; Avalon Grotto
and the Tall Cedars of Lebanon.
