Ronald Dean Hummer, 61, of 67444 Pine
Road, North Liberty, Ind., passed away after an extended illness
at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, at 103 S. Lafayette, North
Liberty, in the home of his daughter, Lori (Gil) Krause.
Mr. Hummer was a millwright at the A.M. General Corporation, and
had worked there since 1982. He was born Jan. 16, 1941, in
Mishawaka, Ind., and was an area lifetime resident.
He was married to Christy A. Zent,
March 30, 1989, in North Liberty. She survives. He is also
survived by three other daughters, Sherri (Vic) Solmos of
North Liberty, Brittnay Zent Hummer and Miryan Zent Hummer at
home; two sons, Randall Wayne (Suzanne) of South Bend, Ind., and
Richard Harris (Fran) of Rock Hill, S.C.; a half sister, Marie English
of South Bend; nine grandchildren; and by his extended family and
friends at the A.M. General Corporation. Mr. Hummer served 3½
years in the National Guard. He was a member of UAW Local #5 and
the North Liberty Church of Christ.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. in the
church on Monday, July 22, officiated by Andy Kaser and Thomas
Short, assistant pastors. Burial will be at Porter-Rae Cemetery,
Potato Creek State Park in North Liberty. Visitation will be from
2 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the A.M. Manuel Funeral Home in North
Liberty. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Marshall
County, Ind., or to the A.M. General H-1 Ronald Hummer Memorial
Fund.
