Georgia R. Hummer

MISHAWAKA - Georgia Ruth Hummer, 90, passed away on Thursday,
February 4, 2010, in Hospice House, South Bend. Georgia was born
on January 9, 1920, in North Liberty, Iowa, to George R. and
Amelia Luellen (Horn) Dull. She was preceded in death by her
parents; sister, Betsy Farrar; brothers, William Dull and Harry
Dull; and a sister-in-law, Marie Hummer. On November 9, 1942, in
Milwaukee, WI, as the former Georgia Dull she married Robert J.
Hummer, who preceded her in death on December 10, 1972. Surviving
are her son, Tom (Beverly Emmert) Hummer of Mishawaka;
grandchildren, Jill Hummer of Granger, Bob (Mia) Hummer of
Granger and Brooke Hummer of Greenwood, IN; great-grandchildren,
Sophia, Grace and Emma Hummer; and several cousins, nieces and
nephews. Georgia was a member of St. Bavo Catholic Church and St.
Joseph Regional Medical Auxiliary. She worked on fundraiser and
volunteered at the hospital for many years along with numerous
other organizations. She enjoyed spending time with family and
friends. She also enjoyed reading, writing, playing cards and
arranging flowers. Visitation will be held today, February 7,
from 1 to 5 p.m. in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street,
Mishawaka. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday,
February 8, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Bavo Catholic Church, with Rev.
Jeffery Largent officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview
Cemetery, Mishawaka. The family requests that, in lieu of
flowers, memorial contributions be made to St. Bavo Catholic
Church, 511 W. 7th Street, Mishawaka, IN 46544; or to The Center
of Hospice and Palliative Care, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend,
