OSCEOLA - Jack E. Hummel, 81, of Osceola, passed away
suddenly in his home on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2008. He was born on
Jan. 6, 1927, in Mishawaka, as the son of Frank W. and Rosetta (Ramier)
Hummel. He was preceded in death by his parents.
On September 20, 1947, in Mishawaka, he
married the former Sally Shephard. Surviving Jack are his
wife, Sally; two sons, Dale (Susan) Hummel of Rochester, IN, and
Daniel (Terri) Hummel of Elkhart. Also surviving are six
grandchildren, Derek, Damon, Dustin, Matt, Nik and Sarah Hummel;
and seven great-grandchildren. Jack was a veteran of the United
States Navy. He served his country proudly during WW II. He
worked for Indiana Michigan Electric Co as a machine repairman
for 48 years before he retired in 1990. Jack was a member of VFW
Post 360 and Queen of Peace Catholic Church.
A visitation to celebrate Jack's life will
be held on Wednesday, Jan. 23, from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the
Hahn Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held
following the visitation in Queen of Peace Catholic Church at
11:00 a.m., with Rev. Dan Scheidt officiating. Entombment will
follow in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Osceola.
